Happy Birthday!
Posted on 5:38 PM by Unknown
You have the power to change us, to make us better, to get the deepest emotions out of us. With one sound, you kneel thousands of hearts. We're better people just because we know you're here and we can witness your art.
Because I know you're here. Because when I first saw you on stage, years ago, I thought it was the best moment of my life and something would change for good. I was right. Because you are a world for me. My world, my smile, my escape from the every day life, my guilty pleasure.
Happy birthday!

TOSCA on big screen, LIVE from the Vienna State Opera
Posted on 12:00 PM by Unknown
Great news for those who couldn't get tickets for this Tosca run at the Vienna State Opera!
All four performances (on September 5, 8, 11 and 15) starring Angela Gheorghiu, Marcelo Alvarez and Zeljko Lucic will be broadcast live on a big screen outside the Opera House, as part of the Wiener Staatsoper Live Outdoors program
Five remote-controlled HD cameras ensure top quality, and the opera house’s own director of photography is responsible for the final outstanding product. The audience can thus enjoy the performances in a relaxed atmosphere in the open, and naturally with free admission.

My favorite, L'altra notte in fondo al mare. There was no other like this one. It hit me, went deep inside and stayed there. Just like that!
And two more

PHOTOS - Concert in Bodrum, August 24
Posted on 12:07 PM by Unknown
What a great concert! Not only Angela's amazing voice, but also the atmosphere, the care of the organizers for each and every detail, the conductor, Ramon Tebar, paying attention to every sound of the soloists and orchestra and the talented and good looking tenor, the Romanian Teodor Ilincai. It was a concert under the star, on sea shore. Perfect combination.
My favs? I have three: L'altra note in fondo al mare, Song to the Moon and Copacul. Perfect, simply perfect. I thought my third choice would be subjective, but I was wrong. You should have seen and heard the audience applauding at the end! As if it was in their own language, not a foreign one. And I know why, because Angela is telling a story when singing. No matter if you understand or not the lyrics, her voice catches your thoughts and carries them throughout the song. No moment of break, no space for breathing. It was a spell. The wind blowing in the beautiful, silky, white dress (see the last photos below) counted a lot too. Great choice!
