Solti Centennial Concert in Chicago coming soon on Blu-ray

Arthaus Musik will release this Blu-ray, according to one of its tweets today. Strange way to make this info public as there's nothing related to this on their official website. But there's a short video introducing the new release (no date or cover yet). 

This is a live recording of the Solti Centennial concert that took place in Chicago on October 21, 2012. Angela Gheorghiu was joined on stage by Rene Pape, the Solti Accademia alumni and the World Orchestra for Peace conducted by Valery Gergiev. See some photos here

The website of the Southbank Centre/Royal Festival Hall in London says:

Giacomo Puccini: O soave fanciulla from La Bohème

I know somebody who'll be very happy to see Tu che le vanità included in the program ;) This is just a snippet. Hope all the program will be published soon.

Angela Gheorghiu will be joined by Romanian tenor Teodor Ilincai and by the Romanian conductor Tiberiu Soare leading the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Tickets still available on the website of the venue.

NEW - concert in Helsinki, May 4

The concert will take place in Helsinki, Finland, at Finlandia Hall on May 4.

The Finish fans will declare May 4 a National Day. I'm happy for them! There was another concert back in...1992 if I remember well (do correct me if I'm wrong). And they (and everyone else willing to travel to Helsinki) can already buy tickets on:

ROH falls for Angela

Catching a moment with soprano Angela Gheorghiu is like arranging an audience with royalty begins Amanda Holloway her piece published in the January issue of About the House, Royal Opera House's monthly magazine.

The conversation took place on October 30 last year at ROH, on the occasion of the Jubilee Concert. The main topic is Angela's career, focusing on ROH's productions and especially on La Rondine. I think it's one of the most difficult operas I've ever sung because your voice has to be very clean and very soft, from the first note to the end, said Angela Gheorghiu about Puccini's opera.

The interviewer mentions that La Rondine opens at Royal Opera on July 5 and also that Angela will return to sing Mimi in La Boheme next season.

3 concerts in Germany, Fall 2013

According to this article, one of them is in Hamburg on October 23, 2013 (with tickets going on sale tomorrow, but there's no link to the online store). There should be two more in Germany and others in Europe, all in Fall. This looks like a tour to me.
